Youth Basketball at the Wonder Five Center

What to expect


Our Youth Basketball league offers a fun and positive environment for youth to gain more experience on the court, develop their skills, and enhance their abilities to communicate, lead, and be a part of a team.

Who can play?

Our league is open to all children of all skills and ability who  currently enrolled in Kindergarten- through 6th Grade. Our sessions are broken up into two sessions Winter I and Winter II and we run two age groups a session.

Volunteer Led Coaching

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnson County's Basketball Program


Our program thrives on the dedication of our passionate volunteer coaches.  They play a crucial role in shaping the lives of young athletes, fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. 


If you want to join our team of inspiring coaches, sign up for the mandatory training through the link below.  Together, we can create a supportive and enriching environment for the youth in our community through the power of basketball. The safety of our youth is of utmost importance. 


These individuals must be 18 years or older, usually Parents or Guardians.


Volunteers must submit to a background check and complete a 1-hour virtual training before coaching the team.

Winter I: October- December

Winter I: is open to all children who are currently enrolled in Kindergarten- 2nd Grade and all students enrolled in 3rd and 4th Grade. 


All games are played at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Franklin, Wonder Five Center, 101 N. Hurricane St. Franklin, IN 46131.


All games are played on Saturdays, and practices are coach-led and will be determined based on the team's availability and individual coaches' schedules.


There is a $65 fee per session per player.  

K-2 & 5th and 6th Grades

WINTER II : January-March

Open to all children who are currently enrolled in Kindergarten- 2nd Grade and all students who are enrolled in 5th and 6th Grade.


All games are played at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Franklin, Wonder Five Center, 101 N. Hurricane St. Franklin, IN 46131.

  • How do I sign my child up?

  • Why do we have to become members of the club?

    We are a membership-based organization. There is no fee to set up an account or to become a member.

  • When is practice?

    Practices will be 1x a week and will be determined by the coach based on the availability of the team. 


    All practices are held at the Boys & Girls Club of Franklin's Wonder 5 Center at 101 N Hurricane St. Franklin, IN 46131

  • Who will be my child's coach?

    Once registration is closed, each child will be added to a team. 


    If a parent or guardian has elected to coach the team, they will be notified by our athletic director to start the background check and training requirements. Once those are complete, a notification will be sent out to you via the email you registered with of the team your child has been placed on.  


    If you are interested in coaching your child's team, please check the " I am interested in coaching" box during your child's enrollment process. 


    Please allow 2-3 weeks once registration has closed, to ensure all coaches have been properly vetted and assigned.  

  • Do you offer discounts/ assistance?

    Yes! We want to make sure every child has a chance to play- regardless of their finances.


     Head over to the session your child would like to play, and during the sign-up process, there will be an option to apply for a scholarship.

  • Can I get a refund?

    If you believe a refund is warranted, please contact our customer support at aclark@bgcf.net, providing a detailed explanation and any relevant documentation. 


    We assess each case individually, considering unforeseen circumstances. While we aim for policy consistency, we acknowledge unique situations and are committed to finding an equitable resolution. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to our sports program.

  • How much does it cost?

    The cost for basketball is $65  per player per session.

  • I volunteered as a coach, now what?

    From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! 


    First things first, we'll need you to fill out this form. This is our background check information; we do require your social security number for this background check to be processed. All information is secure and destroyed as soon as it's processed.  


    Then head over here and complete your 1-hour online mandatory training.


    This only needs to be completed once every 12 months.
