Join the Club for STEM this Summer

  • What is the Summer 3D Printing & STEM Lab?

    The Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnson County is offering a free   hands-on Teen Program summer program where high school students can explore technology, create projects, and learn skills using tools like a 3D printer, laser engraver, and freeze dryer.

  • Who can attend?

    This program is designed for students entering 9-12 grades.

  • How much does it cost?

    There is absolutely no cost to attend.

  • When does the program take place?

    The program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer from 1:00 PM–4:00 PM.

  • Where is it located?

    The STEM Lab at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnson County

    101 Hurricane Street

    Franklin, Indiana

  • Do students need to register?

    Drop-ins are welcome, but we recommend checking in with the Club ahead of time for any required forms or updates.

  • Do students need experience with technology or STEM?

    Not at all! Beginners are encouraged to attend. Staff will help students learn step-by-step.

  • What kinds of things will students do?

    Students may:


    Design and print 3D creations

    Learn how laser engraving works

    Explore freeze drying and food science

    Create projects and prototypes

    Work with friends on creative ideas

    Learn problem-solving and technology skills

  • Is this just for “tech kids”?

    No. The program is designed for students who are curious, creative, hands-on, or just looking for something fun and productive to do this summer.

  • Is the program supervised?

    Yes. Boys & Girls Club staff supervise all activities and equipment.

  • What should students bring?

    Students should bring:


    A positive attitude

    Creativity

    Water/snacks if desired

    All equipment and materials are provided.

  • Can students come only some days?

    Yes. Students can attend as their schedule allows throughout the summer.
