Helping Kids in Johnson County

When you donate to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnson County, you're investing in more than an after-school program. You're investing in local children, stronger families, and a brighter future for our community.

For nearly 90 years, we've worked to ensure every child has a safe place to learn, grow, and discover their potential.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple but powerful:

To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens by providing quality programming to the youth of Johnson County that focuses on education, the arts, technology, health, and physical fitness in a safe and positive environment.

Every decision we make begins with that mission.

Every program we offer is designed to help children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.

More Than Childcare—We're Building Great Futures

Many people first discover the Boys & Girls Club because they need after-school care.

What they quickly discover is something much bigger.

Every afternoon, our Club becomes a place where children build confidence, develop new skills, form meaningful friendships, and are surrounded by caring adults who believe in them.

We don't simply keep kids safe after school.

We help them prepare for life.

Every Program Has a Purpose

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America has identified three essential outcomes that help young people thrive.

Those outcomes guide every program we provide in Johnson County.

Academic Success

We help young people graduate on time, stay motivated to learn, and prepare for today's workforce through homework help, literacy, STEM education, technology, tutoring, and career exploration.

Healthy Lifestyles

Children participate in athletics, recreation, nutrition education, cooking, outdoor activities, and programs that strengthen both their physical and emotional well-being.

Good Character & Citizenship

Leadership clubs, community service projects, mentoring, and character-building experiences help young people become caring, responsible citizens who make a positive impact on the world around them.

Why Your Donation Matters

Membership fees alone do not cover the true cost of serving local children.

In fact, every donation helps provide opportunities many families could not otherwise afford.

Your generosity helps support programs including:

  • Homework assistance
  • STEM & technology education
  • Arts programming
  • Youth athletics
  • Leadership development
  • Healthy meals and snacks
  • Summer programming
  • Field trips
  • Scholarships
  • Caring mentors

Every gift stays here in Johnson County, helping local children build brighter futures.

Our Purpose

Beyond daily programming, our organization exists to ensure every child has access to opportunities that encourage lifelong success.

Our purpose is:

To seek and secure charitable and educational funds to provide guidance and promote the health, social, educational, vocational, character, and cultural development of the youth served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnson County, without regard to race, color, creed, or national origin.

That purpose is made possible because people in our community choose to invest in the next generation.

Investing in Tomorrow

When you donate, you aren't simply funding a program.

You're helping a child discover a passion.

You're helping a teenager find a mentor.

You're giving working parents peace of mind.

You're strengthening the future workforce of Johnson County.

You're investing in Great Futures.
